In this heartwarming episode set in Birmingham, three families open their homes—and their hearts—as their young children navigate friendship, faith, and difference for the very first time. First to host are 9-year-old twins Tom and Billy. Tom has Down Syndrome, and while his brother Billy is used to playdates, Tom has never had one—until now. Their parents hope to help Tom make new friends but worry about how others may react to his condition. Next is Brendan, 8, a spirited redhead from a lively Catholic family who’s nicknamed “The Weasleys.” Raised with strong faith by his single mum Ann, Brendan is eager to share his world—but will he be open to learning about others? Then there’s 7-year-old Yasmin, a confident, energetic girl from a proud Nigerian Muslim family. Living in a modest two-bedroom home, Yasmin’s parents hope she can connect with children from different social and cultural backgrounds. As these three very different worlds collide, friendships are formed, boundaries are tested, and big questions about difference, acceptance, and empathy are gently explored—through the eyes of children.
