The Pro version covers a wider temperature range vs. the consumer version and has a more detailed infrared heat sensor. The Pro camera will deliver a much better image vs. the consumer version of the camera. My biggest gripe with these devices is the short battery life. It will operate for about 45 minutes to an hour before it needs to be recharged. The plus side to this is that it's not using your phone's battery to operate. But I do think short battery life on a tool like this is going to be a point of frustration. I do like that the connector accommodates large cases thanks to a dial control on the top of the unit. It's largely plug and play and the app is simple enough to get up and running very quickly.
