Transcript: China EV Post is reporting that Fang Cheng Bao, BYD’s sub-brand, has kicked off pre-sales for its newest and most affordable model yet—the Tai 3 electric SUV. Prices start at around $19,300 for the base rear-wheel drive version and go up to about $28,500 for the top dual-motor all-wheel drive model, which also includes BYD’s automotive drone system. Deliveries are expected to begin in April. The Tai 3 is the first model in Fang Cheng Bao’s new Tai series, designed for families rather than off-road enthusiasts. It features a unibody design, seats five, and comes with a highly capable all-terrain system. The dual-motor version hits 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds and offers a range of about 311 miles on a full charge. Even with different battery packs—72.96 kWh and 78.72 kWh—all five variants share the same range. On the tech front, the Tai 3 comes standard with BYD’s advanced smart driving systems, including the DiPilot 100. Fang Cheng Bao, which only launched in late 2023, has already delivered over 11,000 vehicles so far this year, showing strong early momentum.
