Courtesy Of DZMM Teleradyo. A former president of the Philippine Bar Association believes Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla can subpoena the SALNs of congressmen being linked to the flood control scam. Atty. Rico Domingo said that under the Ombudsman Act, the country’s chief graftbuster has the power to subpoena the SALNs of lawmakers facing investigation. “And the Senate and or the House will not be able to reject or decline because merong Ombudsman power to subpoena all the SALN,” he said in a DZMM interview. Remulla earlier warned Ombudsman investigators are having a hard time securing SALNs of lawmakers after the House said all SALN requests must undergo a plenary vote.
