Driving review of the Wuling HongGuang Mini EV

Wuling HongGuang is a compact and affordable electric car with two versions, including the standard (LV1) and upgraded (LV2) models, each using advanced LFP batteries provided by Gotion, with capacities of 9.6 kWh or 13.4 kWh for a maximum driving range of 120 km and 170 km respectively. The car is equipped with a 9.3 kWh electric motor with a power output of 17.4 horsepower and a torque of 85 Nm. Additionally, it is equipped with a regenerative electric motor that generates a maximum power of 17.4 horsepower. The car has a maximum speed of 100 km/h, but in practice, the optimal speed range is around 60-80 km/h. Wuling HongGuang is manufactured by SAIC Motor, which is the largest automaker in China and is considered one of the four pillars of the country's automotive industry. It is also a notable player in the global automotive industry, ranking among the top 10 largest manufacturers. SAIC Motor was also honored to be ranked 52nd among the top 500 companies with the highest value worldwide in 2020. This mini car was developed by the SAIC-GM-Wuling alliance and designed to resemble an A-segment car with a boxy shape, similar to the K-car model from Japan, in order to optimize space. According to TMT Motor's calculations, the electricity cost for this mini car is only about 70% of the cost of refueling a regular motorcycle. With these outstanding advantages, this car has finally arrived in Vietnam, with the first assembly plant located in Hung Yen.
