Let’s take an updated look at the Manila Bay Rehabilitation efforts, including the making of Bokashi Balls which use beneficial microorganisms to break down toxins in the esteros. This is the first time I’ve returned to Manila City since Mayor Isko took his position and oh my gulay what a transformation! There used to be garbage all over the roads and it really stunk. Today I saw NO GARBAGE on the streets except a couple of neat piles waiting for pickup! And the traffic is so much better than before! Short trips that used to take 20-30 minutes can now be done in just a few minutes. Clearing the roads of organized vendors and illegal parking has made a huge difference! You’ll never get perfection but compared to before, this is a million times better. I know it might not represent every street in Manila City but at least the major ones appear to be clear.
