This hormone is cholecystokinin, also known as CCK. And it does two very important things. First, it stimulates the release of digestive enzymes from the pancreas. These enzymes are made by the pancreas and they help break down the fat in your food. Second, it causes the gallbladder to release bile. Bile is this greenish substance that helps break down fat and cholesterol. It's made by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. So when you eat a meal, especially one that contains fat, CCK is released and it gets the digestive process started. In fact, CCK is one of the reasons why people who eat a high fat diet have more bowel movements. The extra fat in the diet requires more bile and pancreatic enzymes to break it down, so CCK is released in larger amounts. But too much CCK can be a bad thing. When your gallbladder isn't functioning properly, bile can build up and cause all sorts of digestive issues like bloating, constipation and even diarrhea. So if you're struggling with any of these symptoms, there's a good chance that your CCK levels are off balance. #facts #fatburningsecrets #science #easynutrition #healthydiet #strongabs #motivation #love #healthylifestyle
