Coming out of an artistic standstill and a creative drought, Patch was very relieved to finally get something new started. In a genre she's listened to for ages, she was able to puzzle together a uniquely "patchstep" take on Future Garage. Combining melodic elements and atmospheres straight out of the Direct & CloudNone playbook, with atonal Burial-esque drums, this pulls you in immediately. Coming up for air halfway through, the track switches it up and takes you onto the dancefloor with a material Duskus inspiration. The bouncy bassline and rhythmic melodies make it hard not to bop your head. australis is a standout staple, and a perfect transition for your sets or playlists from dark 2-step into bright bouncy house — "If plaza vol. 2 is anything, it’s an explosion of intention. Brought to life by the community surrounding prism plaza, this compilation doesn’t just flirt with genre chaos, it thrives in it. It’s also one you have to drive hard, crank up the volume, you’ll enjoy it. From drum & bass to gabber, from shimmering 2-step to euphoric hardcore, the album delivers 22 tracks with startling conviction and zero hesitation. Curated by Halfprism, Blumiere, Patch and FLAKS, this release is a collection of countless studio hours and a shared vision, one that leaves you breathless, invigorated, and hungry for more. Compilation albums often struggle with cohesion, and flow, but the sequencing and transitions in this album feel considered, each track given room to breathe before the next arrives." — Stefan Baranowski on Insight Music https://insightmusic.co/plaza-vol-2-a... with love, for the craft.
