What is a "Fast Lens" in about a minute.....Today I show you what a fast lens is. I always see this question on facebook photography pages or in the youtube comments. A fast lens doesn't refer to how quickly the lens focusses or works, it actually refers to the size of the aperture. The bigger the aperture, the faster the lens. The "fast" bit actually comes from the bigger apertures giving you the ability to increase the shutter speed for a exposure. But it basically means that the lens has a big aperture!!
