Modern Classic: Irish Old Fashioned

As far as I can tell this variation on an Old Fashioned has been around for a long while. I'm calling it a Modern Classic because I can't find anything on it that dates back further than a few years. There are numerous bartenders the world over who have their own recipes for this drink and so I'm giving you mine. The Irish Old Fashioned is exactly what it says it is, an old fashioned made with Irish Whiskey. I chose a nice single pot still Irish whiskey for this which is going to go well in this drink.
