Sustainable Micromobility Futures: Transnational #research and capacity building in resource efficient #battery solutions for urban #transport #electrification The project aims to enhance collaborative partnerships between the #UK and #Indian institutions to develop sustainable e-micromobility solutions, comprising of e-bikes, e-scooters, e-cargo vehicles, 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, addressing urban transportation challenges in both countries. The project will accelerate #skills development in battery #analytics for 'e-micromobility' applications, emphasising their sustainability through #industry-academia collaboration. #Micromobility is indispensable not only for transport decarbonisation but also to address congestion, noise pollution, air quality and inefficient use of limited space. For electrified micromobility (e-micromobility), lifespan and need for critical #materials in batteries are key questions to be addressed carefully to ensure #economic, #environmental and social sustainability. State-of-health (SOH) and lifespan of the batteries in e-micromobility are affected by various factors such route terrains, riders’ behaviors, shared fleets, battery swapping. Also, the safety of batteries is influenced by their SOH, operating temperature and (dis)charging patterns. To this end, this project will address the challenges of e-micromobility industry by creating awareness about Artificial Intelligence (#AI) based approaches for battery analytics in e-micromobility and devising recommendations for sustainability in e-micromobility industry. The research is funded by The #British Council Going Global Partnerships Industry Academia TNE Grants 2025-26 Programme. Investigator: Dr Amruta P Joshi (#WMG, University of Warwick), Co-Investigators: Dr Mayur Prakash Bonkile (Indian Institute of Technology (#IIT) Kharagpur) Dr Agnivesh Pani (Indian Institute of Technology #BHU Varanasi) Industrial Partner: Dr Rutooj Deshpande (SimLionics Pvt Ltd)
