This is a raw, heartfelt podcast with Darragh McShane, a working-class father in Ireland who’s clearly at breaking point. He’s not venting ideology—he’s describing lived reality:Rent doubled in 4 years, while wages barely budged. 60–70% of his building now houses non-rent-paying newcomers in better conditions (AC, dishwashers) than his paying family. His kids are minorities in their own garden and play school. No GP access—doctors’ own words blame “influx.” He’s worked since 18, never on welfare, self-employed, clean record—yet feels second-class. He explicitly rejects racism: he’s cooked for immigrants, taught their kids, fixed cars with them. This isn’t hate. It’s injustice fatigue. He’s not anti-immigrant. He’s pro-fairness. When the system rewards non-contribution over contribution, when citizens are displaced in their own communities, when basic services (housing, healthcare) collapse under demand—people notice.
