Disha Ravi or Kapil Mishra: Who Hurts India's Global Image More?

22 year old climate activist Disha Ravi walked out of Delhi's Tihar prison yesterday after getting bail. Charged with IPC sections like Sedition, Promoting enmity and hatred etc, the climate activist spent 9 days in jail in the toolkit case related to farmers protest. The bail order pronounced by Delhi Session court Judge Dharmendar Rana is stinging indictment for the Delhi Police which cited Global Conspiracy behind the creation of Toolkit. The court not only called the Evidence Scanty and Sketchy but also gave an earful dose on Democracy and people's participation to Delhi Police. The national capital police had claimed that Disha was author of a toolkit that hinted at a 26 January Republic Day violence conspiracy in Delhi. On February 14th, Delhi Police reached Bengaluru and arrested Disha from her residence. Since then the police was also on the lookout for two more people Advocate Nikita Jacob and activist Shantanu Muluk. The Police claimed that all the three were a part of a global conspiracy to defame India and spread unrest in the garb of a farmers protest. They also claimed that Disha Rvi had links with Canada based Pro-Khalistani Poetic Justice Foundation and she had a zoom call with its founder MO Dhaliwal days before the violence on 26th of January. The police on the basis of the toolkit which contained names of Disha Ravi and MO Dhaliwal claimed that it was a global conspiracy against India. Delhi police also claimed that Disha Coaxed Swedish Climate Activist Greta Thunberg to tweet the Toolkit. On the other hand, it has been a year since horrific riots broke out in several parts of Delhi. On 23rd February last year riots broke out in Delhi which claimed lives of over 50 people. BJP Leader Kapil Mishra who led the chants of Desh ke Gaddaro Ko, Goli Maaro Saalo Ko speaking on the occasion at Delhi's Constitution club yesterday said that if need be he will redo what he did last year. Mishra had led a pro-CAA rally in Northeast Delhi last year and had warned police to clear anti-CAA protesters from the area, failing which they would take to the streets. Mishra said he has no regrets, besides the fact that we could not save Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma and constable Ratan Lal.
