Never Play the E chord Again - Ultimate Ukulele Hack Today I am going to show you how you can get around playing the E chord without avoiding the song or changing the key. It happens in 3 phases. This will sound more technically than it is but we are going to make it really easy. Try and follow these ideas and if you get lost let me know where and ask me how to clear it up. 1. Identify the context. The E chord happens in three keys. E A B in the key of A you can play the E7 2. If E or B you need tune the ukulele down half step. Essentially this makes the ukulele one fret longer with the new fret being one fret lower in pitch. A - G#/Ab E - D#/Eb C - B G - F#/Gb Now when you strum the F shape you are actually playing the E chord, because it all the notes go down by one note. The F chord is F-A-C and the E chord is E-G#-B the exact same as the F just everything down 1 note, the equivalent. 3. Identify the other chords in the progression and apply the changes. You can do this with a chord chart or simply print out the new shapes for the new tuning on the tabs. Like my Mustang? Have you seen my baritones, the Aurora and the Fireball?
