Italy Trip | 3 days in Venice | Ep. 1

We flew into Rome from the US, took a taxi from the airport to the train station [Roma Termini], and caught a speed train [Frecciarossa] to Venice. Let us say we loved Venice and of all the cities we visited in 10 days, we liked Venice the best. It was a unique experience we'll never forget! Here is the breakdown of what we experienced. 1st day: After 4 hours on the train, we arrived in Venice in the afternoon, walked .4 miles to our hotel & checked in, rested for a bit, and then found a place to eat. After dinner we took a walk and explored Venice for the 1st time. Day 2: After lunch, we took a boat ride tour to Murano -- known for glass blowing & Burano islands. We also stopped at Tercello island, but there wasn't much to see there. Got back in time for dinner and more walking around that evening to further check out Venice. Day 3: After breakfast we set out on foot to see Rialto Bridge and the Grand canal, St. Marks square, basilica, and bell tower. Pretty incredible view from the top of the tower. From there we saw the bridge of sighs [pretty sobering]. Then we walked back instead of catching a water taxi...in order to explore more of Venice. It's amazing the amount of narrow & wide walkways, and the different sizes of bridges. You never know what's around the next corner, which is part of the fun exploring a new place. It was a 1.3 mile walk [1 way] from where we were staying. After dinner, we decided to top off our Venice experience with an evening Gondola ride on the Grand Canal. Day 4: Had a late breakfast and made our way to the train station. Our next stop is a 1 nighter in Bologna in order to see the Ferrari & Lamborghini museums in nearby Maranello & Modena.
