Eddard immediately takes the Maester and most of the sellswords into his service, dressing them in his house’s armor and adding them to his guard. The other seven are scattered across the city gates and tasked with monitoring them for any signs of the king. However, Ned suspects that Littlefinger has these men under his payroll and assigns one of his guards for each sellsword. But as Eddard continues his duties, reports grow grimmer and grimmer.
