The Government Palace, located downtown Monterrey, is a historical site. It was one of the most important achievements of General Bernardo Reyes as governor of Nuevo Leon. Of neoclassical architecture, was designed by the Engineer Francisco Beltran. Its construction began in 1895 and took thirteen years to finish. At present, its ground floor houses the Palace Museum that emerges from the initiative of the Government of the State of Nuevo Leon in conjunction with the Museum of Mexican History, with the aim of creating a space that invites reflection on the history of state. The exhibition in the former halls of the Government Palace has an approach that starts from a non-linear themed script in time. It is composed of more than 400 pieces, including works of art, documents, photographs and clothing, distributed in four thematic rooms. The museum concept focuses on showing the community the history of the entity in three main frames: laws, government and society, fostering a sense of pride that reinforces the Nuevo Leon identity.
