Surprising Las Vegas' Homeless with 1500+ Shoes & Thanksgiving Dinner | Zappos Stories

Zappos for Good believes in uplifting our local community through philanthropy and service. Each Thanksgiving season, we team up with The Salvation Army and other organizations to provide new shoes and socks, a warm dinner, and a day of kindness to the homeless population of Las Vegas. Volunteers distribute several hundreds of vouchers as an invitation to our massive event. When guests arrive, they choose a brand-new pair of shoes and two pairs of socks before gathering around the table for a communal Thanksgiving meal. In this video, we hear from Sally and Warner, a couple who attended our 2016 Thanksgiving event. The two shine a light on the difficulties of living in shelters and their lives before losing their home. It’s through these stories that we learn how to support our city through community events. In one day, we provided 1,778 warm meals and pairs of shoes, 3,556 pairs of socks, and endless smiles to those in need.
