In this video we review D'Addario's XT Classical Guitar Strings. The XT strings have coated basses, which makes the strings last 2-3 times longer than the standard uncoated ones — at least according to D'Addario. You can pick up packs of the XT coated basses in either normal, hard, or extra hard tension and with either nylon, carbon, or titanium (composite) trebles. This review is broken up into three parts: 1. Nylon Trebles + XT Basses 2. Carbon Trebles + XT Basses 3. Titanium Trebles + XT Basses We changed strings and left the XT basses on for about twice the time the nylon-core D'Addario classical guitar bass strings normally last to test out the extended life of the basses. But at each two-week interval we also changed out the treble strings, so you can hear the difference between the nylons, carbons, and titaniums with the same set of basses. So this is really a review not only of the XT basses, but also of the differences between different types of treble strings. Please leave a comment below and let us know which you prefer and if you like the sound of the XT basses! 0:00 Introduction 3:51 Things to Consider 9:11 Intro to Nylon Treble Strings 12:18 Sound of Nylon Treble Strings 16:16 Philip Rosheger's "A Lullaby to Wake up with" on nylons 17:39 Intro to Carbon Treble Strings 19:50 Sound of Carbon Treble Strings 23:53 Philip Rosheger's "A Lullaby to Wake up with" on carbons 26:56 Intro to Titanium Treble Strings 30:16 Sound of Titanium Treble Strings 34:03 Philip Rosheger's "A Lullaby to Wake up with" on titaniums 36:14 Final Thoughts
