On that day... When you became nothing... I was split in half. Which one do you think was more painful? Really proud of this render, still sounds a bit amateur but Pianoteq certainly sounds a lot better; in essence this piece was written as somewhat of an "optimised improvisation" - i.e. I improvise a short phrase, transcribe it, then make alterations to it after the fact. Most of the harmonic language in here is pretty much analogous to 12edo norms and only a few pitches really stand out as being "out"; the huge arpeggiated structures towards the end prove a point that so long as you have a solid foundation for a chord (consonant intervals related to the harmonic series) no matter what you put on top it'll sound relatively stable; obviously this isn't always desired but in this case I think it works tremendously Not sure if I prefer the performance of this on an electric piano sound or a grand piano sound - I conceptualised the entirety of this using a soft electric piano sound so this is the output that I present, though if anyone's curious enough to listen to it with an acoustic piano soundfont you can probably contact me on Discord and ask. Hugely inspired by the work that @tapewormsaga does, their stuff sparked my interest in 22edo a long time ago so if you aren't familiar with their stuff I implore you to check it out ^^ While I understand not everyone can appreciate this sort of music I hope someone does. Recorded on a Lumatone + Pianoteq STD; 2nd Oct 2024
