Biographia Literaria by S T Coleridge is one of the leading works in the field of Literary Criticism published in 1817. Biographia Literaria stands with Preface to Lyrical Ballads by William Wordsworth as the second most influential work of the Romantic age in the field of Literary Criticism. Biographia Literaria was written partly in response to William Wordsworth Preface to Lyrical Ballads, besides focussing on other issues like those of philosophy, politics, and religion. In this lecture series, we will discuss Chapters 13, 14, and 18 which mostly concern the students of English Literature. Chapter 13, deals with the concepts of Imagination and Fancy, Chapter 14 deals with the concepts of Poet and Poetry, and Chapter 18 deals with the idea of meter and diction.
