For two days, we explored Okayama at a slow, unhurried pace, wandering through the city and discovering places that instantly made us wonder why this part of Japan feels so overlooked. From quiet streets and local food spots to peaceful corners we stumbled upon along the way, Okayama surprised us with its calm atmosphere and understated beauty. It felt like the kind of city you experience rather than rush through, perfect for taking things slow and soaking in everyday moments. Beyond the city itself, we visited Okayama Castle and walked through the stunning Korakuen Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens we’ve seen in Japan. We stopped by Okayama Shrine before heading out to Kurashiki, where the Bikan Historical Quarter felt like stepping back in time. To end the trip, we made our way to Kibitsu Jinja, a serene shrine surrounded by nature that left a lasting impression.
