Derek Chauvin Trial: State rests case, defense begins calling witnesses

State prosecutors rested their case against the former Minneapolis police officer first thing Tuesday, allowing attorney Eric Nelson to begin calling witnesses in Chauvin's defense. First up was former Minneapolis officer Scott Creighton, who told jurors about an interaction he had with George Floyd in May of 2019 that had similarities to the one Floyd had with Chauvin in May of 2020. Creighton was followed by former paramedic Michelle Moseng, who told jurors about taking Floyd's vitals following the 2019 incident after he allegedly told her he had swallowed a number of pills. Judge Peter Cahill ruled earlier in the trial that Nelson could call witnesses in the 2019 incident but that the questions would have to be extremely narrow in scope, relating only to the impact opioids may or may not have had on Floyd. https://www.kare11.com/article/news/l...
