I'm trying out a new mobile recording device, the Zoom H2 Essential. It's pretty good! I'll be using it for field recordings. To test it out, I decided to tape the Tune of the Day on it. It sounds ok, but could be better! Anyways the tune here is a rare one, "Cotillon canadien no. 2" (#2 Canadian Cotillion) from the playing of 78rpm era fiddler Antonio Gauthier from Québec. There's a great new band, Garçons à marier, who have been playing some of his tunes (they did his #1 cotillion tune!) and they got me into them. I'll have another one soon.
