Just a short drive from Ambleside, Skelwith Force waterfall is easily accessed on a smooth wide footpath from Skelwith Bridge. From Skelwith Bridge pass Chester’s cafe and follow the footpath all the way, it only takes about 10 minutes. There is a rocky viewing area accessed via steps then a metal bridge. On a wet day take care as the rock can be slippery. Tim ventured down onto a lower metal bridge for a closer view of the waterfall which was impressive after recent heavy rain in the Lake District. We also made our way onto another rocky outcrop for a view but be very careful if you do this particularly on wet moss. This waterfall is easy to access and great to view in a very beautiful area. Watching a powerful waterfall can be wonderful and if you’re like us it is hard to pull yourself away from looking at it. You could continue on to Elterwater on a wide path all the way which is great for everyone. Chester’s cafe is a great place to stop for a coffee before or after visiting the waterfall. We usually visit the waterfall when doing a circular walk from Elterwater, as shown in an earlier video on the channel, click on the link below. • A six mile circular walk from Elterwater v... On the above circular walk you could also visit Cathedral Cave. This is shown in another video, click link below for that • Cathedral Cave in the Lake District. Walk... Hope you enjoy the video and perhaps get to visit this lovely area. #england #waterfall #skelwithforce #lakedistrict #lakedistrictnationalpark #river #bridge #waterfallsounds #waterfallhike #waterfallwander #chestersbytheriver
