Instagram: / job.stoppers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this episode of Face Tattoo Talks, I sit down with Alex, a welder from near Münster who is fully covered in tattoos—from head to toe. His striking appearance includes face tattoos like the word “Beast,” spiders crawling up his cheek and ear, “Chaos” beneath his eye, an ankh cross near his temple, and even an upside-down cross. One of his eyes is tattooed black, the other red. His back features a massive burning church, and a small Jesus portrait adds balance to the overall theme. The contrast between dark and religious elements represents a personal reflection on the balance between good and evil. Alex shares how his fascination with tattoos began when he was young and how he quickly transitioned from his first tattoo to a fully tattooed body in just a few years. All of his tattoos—body and face—were done by a single artist, his friend Mitch at Easy Ink in Ibbenbüren, which gave his chaotic and bold aesthetic a consistent feel. Although face tattoos are often labeled “jobstoppers,” Alex proves that this isn’t always the case. He works full-time in a hands-on profession, and over time, his look has simply become normal to the people around him. We talk about his experiences getting his eyeballs tattooed (one at a time, to minimize risk), his pointed ears and removed earlobes, and the story behind his favorite tattoos. For Alex, tattooing is less about individual meanings and more about embracing chaos, creativity, and confidence in who he is. Interview Highlights Breaking the “Jobstopper” Assumption Face tattoos often come with the assumption that they’ll hold you back professionally—but Alex’s story challenges that idea. Despite being fully tattooed, including his face, he works a steady job and says that his appearance eventually became so familiar to his coworkers that it’s no longer a topic. His experience shows that acceptance often grows over time. Full Coverage in Just a Few Years Alex didn’t waste time after getting his first tattoo. Within a few years, he was completely covered—from neck to feet, and eventually his face. The tattoos came in fast succession, and once the face tattoos started, it didn’t take long before there was no more space left. One Tattoo Artist for a Unified Look All of Alex’s tattoos were done by one artist: Mitch from Easy Ink in Ibbenbüren. That ongoing collaboration helped shape a consistent, raw, and chaotic look. Trusting one tattooer allowed Alex to fully develop the style he envisioned—dark, bold, and personal. Extreme Body Modifications with Boundaries Alex has had both eyes tattooed—one black, one red—describing the experience as intense but something he approached with caution by doing one eye first. He also had his earlobes removed and his ears pointed by body modification artist Oscar Marquez. While his mods are visually extreme, Alex has a clear sense of where his limits are and has no interest in going further with implants or more invasive procedures. The Meaning Behind the Ink Not every piece carries a deep message, but some do. “Beast” on his chin and “Chaos” beneath his eye echo his rough and intense aesthetic. The burning church on his back, spiders on his face, and upside-down cross add to the overall raw energy of his tattoos. To balance the darkness, he also has a small Jesus portrait—a personal way of keeping both good and evil present in his collection. Living His Truth Through Chaos Alex describes his style as chaotic—on purpose. Inspired by heavily tattooed people he admired growing up, he set out to become one himself. His tattoo journey is about expression, identity, and embracing the extreme with confidence. He doesn’t worry about what others might think—he’s focused on doing his own thing and feeling good in his skin.
