History of Dogs

The history of dogs is a short documentary about domestication; when humans became the leader of the pack for some wolves. Those wolves eventually evolved into the cute dogs we keep as pets today. Where dogs evolved is uncertain, but we do know that humans made a deep connection with dogs. Dogs evolved from wolves when humans domesticated dogs. However, domesticating dogs does not mean the same as it does in subsequent domestications. The domestication of dogs is a lot different because wolves approached humans and one could almost say that they domesticated themselves. Dogs gave up their wolf packs in order to become part of the human pack during ancient history. Humans and wolves bonded in a way that no other animal has achieved on such a widespread scale. Dogs and wolves, in the age of ancestors, have cooperated with humans stretching back tens of thousands of years. The history of the world is not complete without including dogs, as human history is only possible because of dogs. There is a reason as to why dogs are called man's best friend. Wolves and the first dogs allowed our ancestors to consistently hunt big game and fast animals such as mammoths and deer. Dogs and wolves are the only large carnivore to be domesticated. The origin of dogs is mankind's story, and all of our different breeds of dogs would not have been possible had our ancestors and the ancestors of dogs not formed a friendship during the stone age. Humans and dogs bond on a deeper level than other animals. Humans and dogs evolved an increased chemical reaction in their brains for each other, so the history of dog domestication was a monumental event in more ways than one in world history. Dogs today are still our loyal friends. Dogs are our smart companions that complement us and will journey with us as we continue to write human history. Dogs are the first animal humans domesticated and they remain our greatest companions.
