Donauwörth, Germany: a small historic town in Bavaria

Donauwörth is a small town located in Bavaria. It is picturesquely situated on the top of a hill at the confluence of the Danube (Donau) and Wörtnitz riveres. You enter the old town through and old gated bridge, the Rieder Tor. The old town consist mainly of just one street with historic buildings, the Reichsstrasse. At one end of the street is the Town Hall (Rathaus) and at the other the Church of Our Lady ( Liebfrauenmünster ), in gothic style from the 15th century. Further on the Reichsstrasse continues on the Heiligkreuzstrasse (Holy Cross street), where you can find the baroque Heiligkeuz monastery and church. The church, built at the beginning of the 18th century is decorated with frescoes and altars.
