In this video I share the creation of my TeleStrat, a tribute to the iconic guitar that Eric Clapton used with Blind Faith, first seen at the band's Hyde Park, London debut on 7th June, 1969. A few of my friends were there...were you? The first half is about how the guitar came together, and the second half contains a selection of tone samples. The body and electrics are from a 2020 Squier Classic Vibe '60s Telecaster Custom and the neck is from a 2020 Classic Vibe '50s Stratocaster (although there is an interesting observation about those production dates in the video). I had planned on doing all the work myself, but when the neck needed the mounting holes filling and re-drilling to ensure the correct string alignment I backed down and took it to Master Luthier, Si Bailey, of SMB Guitars. Si did a first-class job, kindly taking pictures for this video at each stage, and I am happy to share his contact details below (provided as a courtesy: I received no compensation and this is not a paid promotion).
