SHOP PESCATARIAN FISHING APPAREL: https://www.pescatarianfishing.com/shop If you want to learn how to daytime swordfish, then you must learn how to attach a wind on leader. What is a wind on leader? A wind on leader is simply a leader that has a loop on the end which you attach to your main line. To create the loop on your main line, you tie a bimini twist knot at the end of your main line. Now you have two loops and can connect or attach the wind on leader using a loop to loop connection. This wind on leader knot is known as the cats paw knot or cats paw connection. Why use a wind on leader? Using a wind on leader allows you to reel the cats paw connection through the guides on your rod easily and without causing damage to your rod and guides. The same principles are used as the wind-on for tuna when daytime sword fishing. You want to have the ability to reel straight through without having limitations of a swivel. Now that you know why you need a wind on leader, let’s talk about the cats paw connection. The cats paw connection is very important because it is what holds your leader and rigged swordfish bait to your main line. If your cats paw connection fails, you will not only lose the fish but you could also lose you wind on leader, your lead, your deep drop lights and swordfish bait. This can be a very costly mistake. In this video, Captain Pedro brings you aboard the Pescatarian, our Ocean Runner 2900, to the sword grounds in Key Largo where he shares daytime swordfishing tips and walks you through exactly how to attach a wind on leader to braid. Take your time when attaching your wind on to ensure that the connection is perfect. We would also recommend that you get comfortable attaching the wind on leader on a rocking boat. Most of the time when you must change a leader, you will be out on the fishing grounds. Secondly, we would recommend that you carry multiple wind on leaders to ensure you are never out of the fight if you lose line or need to change a leader! Practice the connection until you can do it with ease to ensure you have a perfect daytime swordfish set up! #swordfish #swordfishing #pescatarianfishing #pedrothepescatarian #tackle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you live in South Florida, the swordfish season is year-round so if you have been wanting to learn how to daytime swordfish, check out the Swordfish 101 playlist on our YouTube channel where Captain Pedro walks you step by step tutorials on the following: How To Daytime Swordfish Daytime Swordfishing Tips Daytime Swordfishing Techniques Swordfish Bait – Best Swordfish Bait – Natural & Artificial Baits Bait Rigging For Swordfish - How To Rig Swordfish Bait - Rigged Swordfish Bait – Unrigged Swordfish Bait Daytime Swordfish Rig – Rigging Best Practices – Daytime Swordfish Setup How To Tie A Bimini Twist Knot How To Attach A Swordfish Wind On Leader Lindgren Pitman – How To Set Up Your Drags – Reel & Plug Maintenance How To Deploy & Effectively Fish The Tip Rod & The Jug Rod (Buoy Rod) How To Fillet A Swordfish What Gear Is Needed On Your Boat & In Your Tackle Box How To Set Up Your Lead Line How To Set Up Or Rig Your Harpoon ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🙌🏼 SUPPORT OUR CHANNEL: We appreciate each and every one of our subscribers and viewers!!
