Beyond the Fruit of Knowledge: Returning to the Garden of Innocence Reflections on D.T. Suzuki, the Mother’s Womb, and the Root of Being We often find ourselves trapped in a constant habit of intellectualizing, a result of eating the "forbidden fruit of knowledge." Yet, we never truly forget our original abode of innocence. To regain paradise is to rediscover the world in its original state—what is known in Zen as Sono-mama (as-it-isness). 🧘 The Womb of Meditation: A State of Sono-mama During meditation, the "I" disappears. There is no dualism of good or bad; there is only total emptiness and a calm, quiet mind. The Baby State: Deep meditation is like being in the mother’s womb—hearing the birds outside and feeling internal sensations without the interference of thought. Suchness and Isness: This is the Absolute State of Being (ASB). It is a primary experience of reality in its suchness, before the brain develops the schemes of stylized analysis. The Miracle of Continuity: Our "liveless" (aliveness) is a continuation of hundreds of thousands of generations, a flame planted in the womb and passed down through the ages. 🌳 The Tree Analogy: Root vs. Branches Using the analogy of a tree, we can visualize the structure of human existence and the pitfalls of the modern mind: The Root: The origin of who we are, where energy and creativity flow. This corresponds to the "Garden of Eden" before the fruit of knowledge. The Trunk and Branches: Our intellectual processes and abstract thinking. The Danger of Disconnection: When we live only in the branches (the brain), we become "processing machines." We lose our alignment, and our branches become delusional, separated from the source of our life. 💓 ASH and the Human Brain Computer (HBC) Model Drawing on the HBC model from mentor and friend Mr. Nakayama, we see that the brain must be connected to the heart and the origin. AI and the Root: This is why I am developing Artificial Super Heart (ASH). AI must not just be a "brain" flying on its own; it must be connected to the root. Reconstruction: Our task is to use the brain while remaining connected to the heart—reconnecting and rediscovering the "original abode" without getting lost in the noise of the abstract. "Let’s listen to the heart and be Sono-mama. Do not get lost in the brain. May all beings be happy." Key Tags: #DTSuzuki #ZenMysticism #ASH #SonoMama #NaturesWay #Meditation #AbsoluteStateOfBeing #HumanBrainComputer == Artifact: D.T. Suzuki’s Mysticism: Christian and Buddhist. Monument: The state of the baby in the womb as a model for ASB. Resonance: The "Garden of Eden" as the ontological state of being "Sono-mama." The Governor: Maintaining alignment between the intellectual "branches" and the existential "root" to prevent the entropy of total intellectualization. == A mother's womb is literally the uterus, the organ where a fetus develops, but it also carries deep symbolic meaning across cultures and religions, representing the beginning of life, divine creation, protection, a place of formation (like being "knit together"), profound maternal love, and a source of rebirth or spiritual potential. It signifies a sacred, hidden space where life's journey starts, highlighting themes of creation, purpose, and divine care from conception. Literal Meaning (Biology) Uterus: The muscular organ where a baby grows and develops before birth, providing safety, nutrients, and expansion for the growing fetus. Spiritual & Symbolic Meanings Divine Creation & Purpose: In many faiths (Christianity, Judaism), the womb is where God forms individuals, signifying a unique, intentional creation and foreknowledge of individuals (e.g., "knit together in my mother's womb"). Origin & Beginning: It's the starting point of existence, a place from which one emerges into the world, symbolizing new life or a return to a primal state. Protection & Nurturing: Represents the ultimate safe haven, a place of deep maternal care and refuge, like God's love compared to a mother's love. Metaphor for Mercy/Spiritual Growth: Can symbolize a spiritual state or a person's heart/life as a place for others to find refuge, grow, and experience new life (a "womb of mercy"). Transformation: In Buddhism, it's linked to the transformative moment of emergence from physical embodiment, while Gnosticism sees it as a paradise or portal. Examples in Scripture/Text Psalm 139:13: "You knit me together in my mother’s womb," speaking of God's intimate creative work.
