In a week and bit’s time it would be Easter, and that meant that all the kids would be off school for 2 weeks, and if the weather was nice people would be flocking to the coast and to caravan parks to enjoy the holidays. If Andrea was going to go splashing in the sea (something she had not done for months), then she needed to do it now, or wait 3 weeks. So now it was! She really wanted to wear her 2 piece Sea Storm waterproof suit and her waders in the sea – just walking out into the water until things got interesting… She put on the yellow bib-n-brace over her jodhpurs and then pulled on a pair of very tall, shiny-black Pros thigh waders, which she secured to a belt around her bib-n-brace. Over the top she fastened her Sea Storm jacket and secured it with a second belt around her waist, a wide black one which would ensure that the jacket didn’t float upwards. Carrying a red waterproof caving sack on her back, she wandered through the woodland that led down to the coast. The weather was very strange, it was cloudy but the air was warm and there was a sea mist which swirled all around and dampened sound. She jumped down from the coastal path onto the crunchy gravel beach and skirted the rocky bluffs by walking in the shallow water. As she got more adventurous, the water got deeper and deeper, and in due course she got very wet indeed. Swimming and splashing and wading and floating, it was great fun, but after an hour of this strenuous activity she was completely exhausted and it was still a 2 mile uphill walk back to her pickup truck. Standing on the rocks next to her rucksack, she stripped off her waders and waterproofs. She then took a pair of long black leather riding boots from the bag and pulled them on over her wet socks and jodhpurs. As she set off back to her car, she looked just like any other horse rider, walking though the woods. But if you listened carefully the squelching sounds from her boots hinted that she might actually be soaking wet…
