Baska, Island of Krk - A Trail Paradise

The favorable climate and the geography offer many opportunities for sports activities in fresh air and in direct contact with unspoiled nature, which makes Baška an attractive destination for an active vacation. The Baška Valley and the hills that embrace it are a tangled network of paths and roads. Unchanged for centuries, they lead through forests and bare pastures, bordered by stone walls, and sprinkled with aromatic herbs. The ancient roads here are among the first in the Kvarner region to have been reconstructed and marked as tourist trails, with the help of the Czech tourists and guides. The 19 marked trails, with a total length of more than 90 kilometers are grouped into four categories: non-demanding, demanding, medium-demanding and very demanding. The non-demanding paths are from 2 to 3.5 kilometers long and can be passed in about an hour and twenty minutes, while the very demanding paths in certain areas are shorter, but will require a longer walking time.
