As requested from viewers, we've been recently testing CE Multinorm radios in CEPT AM mode & the results have been pretty poor. We do this test at the 5-mile point. It's been suggested that perhaps AM/FM don't work as well as dedicated AM sets when in that mode. As you will be aware, since late 2014 UK users can use the CEPT set of 40 channels in AM, SSB & FM as well as the unique set of 40 UK channels in FM. Radios used in the UK have to be type approved & for AM or SSB must show the CE approval on the rear panel. This AM set is one of few for the European market that is CE approved & AM only. I have another dufferent model coming fram France too that fits the criteria for UK legal use. The type approval is not onlt the transmitter filtering, but also the receiver specifications.
