4 hour T3+ trail on Verbier’s chamois route from La Chaux to Col Termin. The hike starts in La Chaux, reached by gondola and lift, and the usual path descends a little first. Instead I chose to go up and take the alpine variant across the flanks of Bec des Rosses. This path is marked white-blue-white, with steep drops on the right side, so it is not suitable for people with vertigo. In practice it feels more like T3+ than T4, as no climbing is involved, only a good head for heights. The shortcut later rejoins the usual chamois trail, which is also quite exposed closer to Col Termin, so also not suitable for peope with vertigo. From the pass, hikers can continue on a long descent of 1400 meters down to Lac de Louvie and Fionnay, but I turned back to La Chaux to spare my knees. I walked the alpine path both ways, enjoying its dramatic scenery and higher crossing above the valley. Back in La Chaux you can stop for lunch to round off the tour.
