Developing new treatments for illnesses such as Alzheimer's, leukemia and diabetes – this is the goal of the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD). 250 researchers from 30 countries are researching the biology of stem cells and tissues in order to understand the regenerative processes of organs. Catherina G. Becker is the Alexander von Humboldt Professor at CRTD and, together with her research group, she is investigating how zebrafish can repair the central nervous system after spinal cord injuries. She is one of the eight dedicated scientists featured in the film “Bright Minds. Excellent Research.” which provides insights into cutting-edge research at TU Dresden.
