Wisen up Eric Johnson, born on August 17, 1954, is an American guitarist, vocalist, and composer. His 1990 album “Ah Via Musicom” achieved platinum certification by the RIAA. The standout track from this album, “Cliffs of Dover”, earned him the prestigious Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Johnson’s guitar skills are legendary, and he is also proficient in acoustic, lap steel, resonator, and bass playing. Beyond that, he showcases his talents as a pianist and vocalist. His musical versatility spans various genres, including rock, blues, jazz fusion, soul, folk, new-age, classical, and country. In 2006, Keyboard Magazine hailed him as “one of the most respected guitarists on the planet.” Early Life and Career Highlights: Born into a musically inclined family, Johnson began learning the guitar at the age of 11.
