The Elizabeth Mine of Strafford, Vermont was once a hub of industrial activity, thanks to a pocket of copper ore that was in operation from the 1800s until 1958, when it was abandoned. It's since become an EPA Superfund site, and Vermont Historical Society Executive Director Steve Perkins and Local 22 & Local 44 anchor Mike Hoey visit with Strafford Historical Society president Steve Willbanks to learn more about the history of the cleanup operations that have taken place on the site. This Place in History is a collaboration between Local 22 / Local 44 and the Vermont Historical Society. Watch more This Place in History videos: • This Place in History: H. H.
