GREEN SCHOOLYARD LECTURE SERIES Lecture 3 — November 6th, 2025 The Green Schoolyard Lecture Series, hosted by Green Schoolyards America, provides technical, design-focused guidance for creating and stewarding high-quality green schoolyards and schoolyard forests. Sessions feature presentations by subject-area experts including Green Schoolyards America staff, along with time for audience Q&A. All webinars are free and recorded. Dr. Mariana Brussoni, founder and head of the Outside Play Lab, has published award-winning research that investigates how to ensure children have the time, space and freedom to play outside every day. In this session, she discussed why beneficial risk and play is critical to children’s wellbeing, as well as how to increase opportunities for “risky” play in the context of a green schoolyard.
