On January 18, the Gerhart Center hosted a panel discussion titled “What About the Youth? Dignified Employment in Egypt’s Economic Future.” The panel featured Medhat Abdel Rasheed, Advisor at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and Nora Abou El Seoud, CEO of Education For Employment Egypt, and was moderated by Kareman Shoair, Senior Research Manager at the Gerhart Center, AUC Onsi Sawiris School of Business. The discussion explored practical pathways for positioning youth not only as participants in Egypt’s accelerating economic development, but as its primary beneficiaries, while addressing skills gaps, the importance of dignified work, and the role of AI in shaping future career pathways.
