Is Chamonix a good ski resort? - Chamonix Mont Blanc

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (usually shortened to Chamonix) is a resort area near the junction of France, Switzerland, and Italy. At the base of Mont Blanc, the highest summit in the Alps, it's renowned for its skiing. Year-round, cable cars take visitors up to several nearby peaks with panoramic views. The road trip we did in August 2021, we started from Aix en Provence, and it's about 500km which took 6 hr of the drive. The highway road was really good and smooth but the toll on this road was really high especially for Tunnels. We stayed at Chalet Hotel Le Prieure in Chamonix, It has south-facing rooms, our room was facing Mont Blanc and the rooms at Le Prieuré have a typical chalet-style decor and feature flat-screen satellite TV and a bathtub. You can relax on your balcony and enjoy a view of Mont Blanc or Aiguille Verte. The buffet breakfast is served in one of the 2 onsite restaurants, Le Rotissier, which overlooks Mont Blanc. Breakfast also has very extensive choices of foods mostly French. After a chill and relaxing breakfast, we started to walk towards Chamonix city which is about 700 m from the Hotel. We planned to go to Glacier train and explore the city on the walkway.
