Jump King | The History of Ghost of the Babe World Records

Ghost of the Babe, Nexile's most difficult map. How have players gone about speedrunning this map, what skips have been found and who has held the prestigious title of "World Record Holder"? I’ve been working on this video for about 6-7 weeks, and I’ll tell you there is a lot to it. I had to rewrite parts of the script a few times and redo the intro to the video, as I didn’t account for a few things that were essential in the map’s history. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have gotten a few minor things wrong or have worded things weirdly, so if you see anything that needs addressing please let me know and I’ll be sure to mention it in a pinned comment or something like that. I'll also inform you all when the world record gets broken so that you know the video is outdated. The part I’m least happy with is the recordings, but my microphone is terrible and it is the part that I put the least effort into. But I think the script itself and the video came together quite nicely. A few things: There are a few cases in which non-WR holders were the first to implement a strategy or whatnot into their run, but If I say “the first” I just mean the first WR to do said thing. I can’t always mention everything for every run, the video would feel a lot more repetitive and boring and the whole point is that you’ll understand what each run was when it is compared to the other ones (CookieCrisp’s 8:10 for example). The background footage is unfortunately only in 540p, but I wanted to use it as that is the current WR for the boots + ring category for the map, and wanted to shout them out because boots + ring (especially for GotB) is extremely hard. The names for the runners are their speedrun.com names, some of them have slight variations on other platforms.
