I should have used a microphone. After learning the ins and outs of the Akai MPC 4000 and the Z4 I realized that I had not ventured into the world of Ak.sys. The MPC User Forum crew seem to have mixed feeling about the software. I generally run from software, however I like what I see so far from Akai. I know that people are having difficulty using Ak.sys with newer computers. I bought an old XP laptop just to be able to use old software with some of my other machines. XP sadly is going to go the way of the Dodo in a year or so. In any case once you sort out the drivers then Ak.sys works like a charm. You can use multiple samplers at the same time, even the older S5/6000. Granted all of the functions can be done on the units themselves, but it can be quite fiddly on the hardware samplers. As you will see in the video this was my second attempt at actually exploring Ak.sys so forgive the long pauses and all the "this is great!" statements. I just wanted to make a video showing people what this program can do. After playing with it a little I see that it is also an easier way of explaining all of the functions of the MPC4000. Buying the MPC 4000 has been one of the best purchases I have ever made in terms of music equipment. I just can't stop praising it. PS here is a great link... http://www.gearslutz.com/board/electr...
