This documentary captures the three-day intensive training for 18 elected mentors under the She Rises Beyond Violence Project in Korogocho, Nairobi. The training was organized by INUA KIKE Community-Based Organization with support from International Justice Mission, and aimed to equip mentors with the skills and knowledge to run adolescent girls’ safe spaces across all 9 villages of Korogocho. The sessions covered: Introduction to INUA KIKE’s mission, vision, and project goals. Core mentorship skills and safe space management. Adolescent development and challenges faced by girls in informal settlements. Life skills, leadership, livelihood training, and financial literacy. Community engagement, accountability, and action planning. By the end of the training, mentors were certified and prepared to guide safe spaces that empower girls to recognize, prevent, and stand up against sexual and gender-based violence within a more aware and supportive community environment.
