What is Adlerian Play Therapy?

An important skill to use play therapy well is to learn a play therapy theoretical model. One of the things I often hear from new play therapists is that there are so many to choose from and it can be confusing to figure it out. Learning about different play therapy theoretical models provides the opportunity to explore which model(s) resonate with you so you can pursue learning how to use the model like an expert. Where do you start? Well … I’ve got great news! In this week’s free livestream episode, we’ll be exploring Adlerian Play Therapy. Adlerian Play Therapy is focused on applying the principles of Alfred Adler’s psychology model to meet the unique developmental needs of children in the healing process. My guest, Dana Holtz is a school psychologist who is licensed in Arizona and Nevada as well as an RPT-S. She has an Advanced Certificate in Adlerian Play Therapy. She is also the current President for the Nevada Association for Play Therapy.
