Golden Eagle Danube Express - Venice to Istanbul (Balkan Explorer) train composition consist of 14 wagons: WLDsm, Salon, WL, WLm, 2 x WLmee, 2 x WRm, WRSmee, WLmee, 3 x WLm and service/generator car. These are rented saloon and elite carriages from a Hungarian railway company MÁVRT, that takes care and provides them to this British travel company for such traveling occasions. This agency train passes through many countries along the way and across various railway companies, requiring the prior engagement of locomotives from different railway operators. From Timisoara in Romania to the serbian border station in Vršac, this train was pulled by two Romanian diesel locomotives. There, a replacement was made for a Serbian diesel locomotive. At the Pančevo station, the diesel locomotive was replaced by an electric one. On its route through Serbia, this train had maximum priority over all other trains along the line. It represents some kind of rarity on the railway and hence it is a real treat for train enthusiasts and railfans photographing and filming along the tracks.
