Philokalia Aintoura, Deir al Ziyara - Philokalia Organization دير سيّدة الزيارة The Visitation Monastery, known as "Deir Al Zyara" was founded by notables of the Khazen family of Keserwan in 1744. It is a contemplative order that devotes itself to teaching and charity. In 1862, the monastery was considered the first school for little girls in the region, and many of them graduated, including the fairy of literature May Ziadeh. Abandoned by the nuns, the monastery was destroyed by time, war, and bad weather. It was not until 2019 that a major renovation project was started thanks to a donation from the Hungarian Government through Hungary Helps Program.
