Hey guys! So I finally picked up a Rode mic to improve our audio recordings! Unfortunately it's quite prone to cellular interference. Turning Airplane Mode to "ON" solves this and sound quality and volume is good (Search Amazon for FGC's 1 Star rating for a similar finding). However I really need my GSM services switched on since my phone is also used for my day job and I need to stay connected! In this video I do a quick comparison if the audio from the RODE Video Mic Me and the MOMAX X-Mic Mini on the Samsung Galaxy S8+. The MOMAX X-Mic Mini does well in this regard. Only a hint of GSM interference can be heard from time to time and extreme cases in very specific situations. Volume is quieter and tinny, but can be remedied to an extent in post. The RODE does have the better audio volume, almost 70%! But cellular interference makes it almost unusable for my style of use! It's a shame, as the RODE can cost anywhere between two to three times more than the MOMAX! More detailed reviews of these two on separate videos. Cheers!
