She is sometimes called the "Queen of Frafra Gospel." This gospel style developed in the churches of Northeast Ghana. It's music meant to be sung to, dancing and clapping during a busy Sunday service. Florence grew up in Kumasi, further south, the epicenter of Ghanaian highlife, so her Frafra gospel style is blended with that other strong musical tradition: melodic and rhythmically pulsating highlife.
