Today I will discuss Lower Lid Blepharoplasty. What is Lower Lid Blepharoplasty? Patients come to us and said that we have a very tiered look in our photo and a baggy appearance when we wake up in the morning. Patients consult us due to these common reasons. Lower lid blepharoplasty is also done in young patients as well as old patients. It depends on the person who needs this procedure. We have two techniques for this procedure. 1: Transconjunctvial Technique 2: Subciliary Technique Technique and procedure are same for the both but the incision is different. We evaluate patients to see who needs which procedures. If we have a young patient who does not have skin access. We can use the subconjunctival approach in those cases. What is the subconjunctival approach? In the subconjunctival approach, we make an incision from the conjunctiva inside the eye. We remove the access fat of the eyelid through this. If we have access to the skin then we can combine the skin resection procedure with this approach. Usually, we do this procedure for younger patients who don't have access to skin. Our second technique is the Subciliary approach. We do a cut just from the under of the lash line. From where we remove the access skin, access muscle, and fat. We do the incision just under the lash line. Stitches are dissolvable or we remove them. The scar is just a small line that gets faded over a period of time. Seeing whether the skin is accessible or not, we choose the approach. Or it is just fat access. Both approaches are patients individualistic. once you consult us, we would tell you better which approach is suitable for you. The procedure has no downtime.
